Where we fish (Victoria and Tasmania)

As Australia’s primary supplier of locally-caught gummy shark, we’re committed to fishing in a sustainable way. Our fishing practices are closely regulated by the Fisheries Management Act, and we must comply with strict environmental standards. Our trawlers have GPS tracking devices and video cameras so that the Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA) knows where our boats are fishing – and what we’re catching – at all times.

At Pitliangas, we use longline fishing as our preferred approach as we believe it’s more ecologically sustainable and produces catches of superior quality. Our aspiration is that Australians can continue to enjoy premium locally-caught gummy shark for
